Inmate Classification
 |
Cass County Jail
uses an objective classification system. This classification
system, using the decision tree instrument, allows us to assess
each inmate according to risk and safety. An assessment is
made based on current charges, past criminal history, escapes,
behavior, and special needs. A one-on-one interview with each
inmate is part of this process.
During
the inmates incarceration their classification is reviewed
on a periodic basis. Inmates are held accountable for there
actions. Incentives for good behavior are provided as well
as a more restrictive environment if negative behavior continues.
Cass
County Jail's classification system determines the level of
supervision needed, the housing assignment and the delivery
of services and programs.
